Astrology Report for October 2011

October features another Super Moon, along with a financially favorable Jupiter/Pluto trine. With the late September New Moon in Libra, the month begins with a focus on expressing more peace, harmony and equality in our lives and relationships. Later in the month, the Scorpio New Moon brings depth, power and commitment.

On October 2, Mars squares Jupiter, which challenges our need to stay centered while involved with numerous activities. It will be favorable to have an important priority on which to stay focused, in order to avoid scattering our energy. Also today Venus aligns with the marriage asteroid Juno, which makes this a good day to get married or begin a new relationship.

Any relationship or project begun now will also be helped by a constructive Mercury/Saturn alignment in Libra on October 6. This aspect helps us with structure, organization and perseverance with our intentions and goals.

The Full Moon occurs on October 11 at 18 Aries. Aries themes include being more action-oriented, assertive, independent and pioneering. As this lunation is aligned with Saturn, this provides us an earth/fire blend for more energized, constructive and lasting accomplishments. This is a good lunation for new beginnings of all types as long as we are mindful that our personal needs (Aries) are balanced with the needs of others (Libra). The Sabian symbols for these degrees suggest that we can take a more creative approach to issues of inequality and injustice. The sextile to Mars should help us stand up for what we feel is right.

The most favorable day for recreation may be October 14 when Venus opposes Jupiter, although we need to watch out for overextending ourselves.

From October 14-17, several Mercury aspects inspire lively conversation, with the Mercury/Pluto sextile on October 16 being more favorable for deeper types of communication. From October 17-23 Mercury, Venus and Mars form challenging hard aspects with Uranus and Pluto, bringing sudden changes and unsettled conditions. Communication misunderstandings can occur on October 23 with the Mercury/Uranus aspect. This isn’t the best time for taking risks or starting anything new. Since this is the balsamic lunation phase, it is best to spend this week tying up loose ends.

On October 26 the New Moon occurs at 3 Scorpio. Scorpio themes include being more resourceful, powerful, secretive, probing, controlling and taking a deeper approach. Since this lunation opposes Jupiter, we have the opportunity to examine basic assumptions, broaden our horizons and take a more expansive and higher viewpoint. We feel more independent and adventurous this month, with more energy to explore unique interests. As this lunation also aligns with Juno, there is increased healing energy for close relationships. Since this is the fifth of six Super Moons, there is more potential for Earth changes and intense emotional reactions. The Sabian symbol for this degree, “A youth carries a lighted candle in a devotional ritual,” reminds us of the power of ceremony and uniting our intentions with like-minded others.

On October 28, Jupiter in Taurus trines Pluto in Capricorn for the second of three aspects. On this day the Sun also opposes Jupiter and sextiles Pluto. This combination can present viable opportunities for prosperity and is favorable for all financial activities. Use of creative visualization for manifestation could bring faster results at this time. Whenever Pluto is involved, something hidden can be revealed and there is often a deeper understanding about a situation.

November brings another Solar Eclipse and Mercury retrograde – stay tuned!
